Our Equipment

We currently have three fully equipped canteen units, two shelter vehicles and one transport van. Below are some pictures with some information on the units with a slideshow below of the inside of various units. On most all calls, both a Canteen and a Shelter unit are dispatched. The Canteens supply food and drink and the Shelters provide a restroom and an area to sit. Should you desire to tour our facility and our units, use the contacts page (click here) and someone will get back to you.

Unit #41-6

41-6 With Upper DecalOur newest unit is a 2019 Freightliner Chassis and it was customized for a canteen to replace our oldest unit which was a 1986 model. The new canteen is equipped with two upright freezers along with two refrigerators. It also features a flat top gas grill, a four-burner stove, two coffee makers along with heating and air-conditioning for better all-season operations. This canteen was possible through donations from the people we serve (emergency service providers including fire companies, rescue units, etc.) as well as donations from the general public in the primary areas we serve. We thank each and every one for making this state-of-the-art unit possible.

41-8

Unit #41-8

This is the other unit which we alternate with the newest unit in responding to calls. A 2011 Freightliner chassis, it has two refrigerators and two freezers which enable us to get on the road quicker since we keep food items loaded, ready to go with the exception of a few items and, of course, personnel to man it! It also features a serve-yourself drink center on the outside for both cold and hot drinks. Since it is air-conditioner, plus has ceiling vents, it is a much more comfortable vehicle to serve from during inclement weather (high heat or extreme cold).

41-2

Unit #41-2

This unit is a 1998 Freightliner, originally (for those who remember) equipped with a PTO (“Power Takeoff”) to run the electric in the canteen unit. Due to it being extremely loud, within the past couple of years, we had it renovated and the PTO was replaced with a generator. Other renovations included stainless steel counters. This unit is used for special service operations as well as a fill-in for the primary canteen units should they be on calls or unavailable for other purposes.

41-5

Unit #41-5

This is one of two Shelter units and is a 2005 Workhorse. Our members did much of the work in building this unit with a local camping center assisting with installing tanks, a commode and a sink. There is a heated rest area as well in this unit for the emergency workers. Generally, two members man this truck.

41-7

Unit #41-7

This is the other Shelter unit and is a 1999 Chevrolet diesel. Our members did much of the work in building this unit as well, with a local camping center assisting with installing tanks, a commode and a sink. There is a heated rest area as well in this unit for the emergency workers. Generally, two members man this truck.

Unit #41-3

Last, but definitely not least, is our 2006 GMC Savana Transport van which was donated to us by the now-defunct Ladies’ Auxiliary of the North Penn Goodwill Service. This vehicle is used to transport relief members and/or supplies to the scene.

We welcome anyone to visit us and see the equipment up close and personal! We are generally at the building the first and third Mondays for worknights most months at 7:00 PM and are actively seeking new members. Click here for an application or just stop by and talk with our members who will give you an application.
